Nagaland’s Covid-19 cases breach 1000 mark

Dimapur, July 20 (EMN): Nagaland has breached the 1000-mark of Covid-19 cases positive as 33 more positive cases were recorded on Monday, taking the tally of the state to 1021.

This was informed by the minister for Health S Pangnyu Phom through a social media update on Monday morning.

“Out of 454 samples tested, 33 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed.

16 in Dimapur, 12 in Mon & 5 in Kohima.” the minister tweeted.

Till date, Health authorities in Nagaland have declared 445 patients as ‘recovered’ and there are 576 active cases in the state and no deaths.

Nagaland recorded its first Covid-19 positive cases on May 25 when three returnees tested positive for the virus.

As of July 20, Dimapur has the highest cases among the districts with 241 active cases, followed by Kohima with 109 active cases; Peren has 108 active cases; Mon has 87 cases; Tuensang has 10 cases; Phek has 8 cases, while Mokokchung has seven cases, Longleng has three cases; Zunheboto has two cases and Wokha has one case.

According to the severity of the symptoms, out of the 576 active cases, 572 cases are asymptomatic while there are two mild cases and two moderate cases respectively.
