Nagaland: YouTube singing competition to commemorate International Day of Peace

Dimapur, Sep. 9 (EMN): To commemorate International Day of Peace 2021 on September 21, The Morung Express, a Nagaland-based newspaper, is organising a YouTube singing competition with theme: The Road to a Lasting Peace.

An update issued on Sep. 9 informed that the competition, ‘Sing For Peace’ is to celebrate through music the International Day of Peace which was established in 1981 by the UN General Assembly to commemorate and strengthen the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and people.

The competition is said to be free and open to all with no age limit. The song must be an original composition sung in any one of the Naga languages. There are no limits to the number of performers for each composition/song/video. The English translation of the song must be submitted. All submissions are to be in an edited video format.

Participants can email their videos to morung@gmail.com or submit via WhatsApp document to +91 87878 46184.

Last date of submission would be September 18 at 6 pm while the results would be declared on September 21 at 6 pm. After the declaration, winners have been directed to claim the prize with proof of identity on or before October 5, 2021.

The update further informed that, well known Naga musician Tali Angh would be the judge for Sing for

Peace. Tali Angh is a Contemporary Christian Music artiste, performer, singer-songwriter and worship leader.
