Dimapur, Feb. 24 (EMN): A new health sub-centre was inaugurated in Yali village under Noksen block Tuensang district by chief medical officer Dr. Moatemjen on February 22.

According to an update from district media officer, Tuensang, Moatemjen stated that the village health committee and stakeholders should take ownership of the health centre and provide full support to the health staff for smooth functioning of the facility.   

The team also conducted health camp, where 160 OPD were registered, including 51 eye screening and 37 blood smears examined (NVBDCP). 

A focus group discussion (FGD) session was also conducted for eligible couples on maternal health, child health and family planning, according to the update. The district media officer (NHM) also spoke to the participants during the session.

IEC materials on immunisation, family planning, JSY/JSSK, iodine deficiency and non-communicable disease were also distributed during the camp.

The team led by the CMO and accompanied by six doctors, a pharmacist, DPMU (NHM) staff, mobile health team, school health team and NVBDCD staff also visited Ngounchung sub-centre and made site verification along with the village communities for construction of PHC building.
