DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Winter Expedition 2023, a raw and tough challenge for both man and machine, was flagged off on December 27 from CT Square, Chümoukedima. The expedition is organised by 4×4 Attitude Expedition with a rather apt and unique tagline ‘Unforgiving terrains, uniting people,’ an update stated.
Over 30 off-roaders from all across the country drove through the four districts of Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Niuland and Wokha with a river crossing at the mouth of the biggest river in Nagaland – the Doyang – at Liphayan in Wokha district. The first day involved a mix of challenge of slush and dust as the off-roaders drove across the foothill road.
“The challenges got tougher as the sun went down and the head lights turned on. The now exhausted drives had to endure the toughest sections of mud and slush where only the finest of man and machine could go through,” the update stated.
“Amidst the roar of engines, the off roaders shared their camaraderie with a tea break at Lithanro at Sanis on the way to Wokha for the night stay at Hammock resort. It was an eventful and memorable day,” it added.
