Kohima, April 1 (EMN): Nagaland Taekwondo team won two gold, five silver, and four bronze respectively at Kimunyong Open Taekwondo Championships India, held from March 29 to 31, at the DTRP indoor stadium in Guwahati, Assam.
Hinglakpo of cadet category (U-49 kg) and participating at U-14 category won a gold medal while Thongti Thonger won another gold medal at sub junior category (U-35 kg) respectively.
Meanwhile, the five silver medallist were Manhei konyak (U-25 kg) and Lhuvosayi (U-27 kg), of sub-junior category (U-11 years); T Kiutsu of cadet category or (U-41 kg); Neikhozo Naprantsu (U-45 kg) and Zakieneikho peseyie (U-63 kg) of junior category.
The four bronze medallists are Manong AT Konyak (U-23 kg), Lungkan Phom (U-32 kg), Wangham Phom (U-50 kg) of sub junior category and Keyinchigongbe (U-58 kg) (senior).
State Taekwondo Coach Visabiu Peseyie led the team to the open championship, alongside Kenelivo Nagi as team manager. Coach and team manager congratulated the participants and expressed happiness over their performances.
Altogether, 17 fighters representing Nagaland participated during the event out of which 15 players from Sports Academy and two players from Jalukie club under Peren district took part in different category.
