Grade-IV staff of Water Resources Department get capacity building training on ‘Office courtesy’

DIMAPUR — A one-day capacity building training programme on ‘Office courtesy’ for grade-IV staff of Water Resources Department (WRD) was conducted on Friday at the Office of the Chief Engineer, WRD, Kohima.
The programme began with a welcome and keynote address delivered by Sobu Angami, Additional Chief Engineer, WRD, who welcomed and thanked the resource persons and all the participants for their presence, a DIPR report stated.
Sobu briefed that the training is a first of its kind organised by the department, and emphasised the importance of discipline, polite behaviour, and responsibility in maintaining a healthy workplace environment.
The first session on ‘Values and ethics in the workplace’ was led by Meripeni Ngullie, Project Lead of Nagaland Skills & Entrepreneurship Mission, Kohima.

She highlighted the gift of work, gratitude, humility and being accountable. Ngullie also emphasised on integrity, responsibility, respect and teamwork among colleagues within the workplace.
The second session on ‘Duties and responsibilities of Grade-IV staff’ was conducted by Wapangnaro Imchen, Executive Engineer, WRD, who explained the roles and expected conduct of staff in office functioning.
The training programme concluded successfully with active participation from all the attendees.
“Such initiatives aim to improve workplace behaviour, strengthen professionalism, and enhance overall efficiency in the department,” the report stated.
