Nagaland Veteran Inter-District Football Tournament underway

Dimapur, Feb. 25 (EMN): The 10th Edition of Nagaland Veteran Inter-District Football Tournament kick-started at Mon with Mhathung Yanthan, advisor to Horticulture & Border Affairs as the special guest on Tuesday, Feb. 25.

An update received here on Tuesday informed that the opening match between Mokokchung and Longleng ended in a draw with both teams scoring a goal each. Yongkai scored for Longleng while Repa scored for Mokokchung.

The second match between Mon and Kohima ended in a goalless draw as both the teams could not find the back of the net. In the last match, defending champion Dimapur defeated Phek 3-1.

For Dimapur the goals came from the boots of Limawati, Yanbemo, and Waisong Bey while the lone goal for Phek was scored by Kuveduyi.

Seven teams/district are participating in the tournament.
