Dimapur, Sep. 26 (EMN): Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) under the establishment of chief medical officer (CMO), Wokha, in collaboration with DAPCU, Mobile ICTC, NUN LWS Wokha, DVBO (NVBDCP), organised an outreach health camp at Tsumang ‘A’ Colony in Wokha town on September 24.
The outreach health camp, led by Dr. Thungjamo E Jungio, medical officer of Nyiro PHC, was organised with an objective to reach out to people and establish faith and cordial relation with the residents, an update from the CMO’s office stated.
During the programme, Oponthung Kinghen, UPHC district consultant, has highlighted on the importance of outreach health camp in the community, providing free screening and testing, giving health related awareness, distribute free medicines to treat common diseases and refer major cases. Kinghen urged the community to avail the facilities provided by the department.
Altogether, 42 patients turned up for RBS, ABO rh typing, HIV, HCV, Hbsag, malaria testing. It informed that those patients were also provided free medicine after the health checkup.
The medical team comprised of doctor, nurse, lab technician, mobile ICTC, link workers, surveillance workers (SW), ward ASHA and pharmacist.
