Dimapur, June 27 (EMN): Nagaland University (NU) Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Zunheboto conducted an input distribution programme under Tribal Community Development project at Beisumpuikam village in Peren district on June 24.
Introductory speech was delivered by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, Principal Scientist and Head/PI of the project, who gave an insight of the project and importance with respect to improving productivity of crops and animals, an update informed.
Chief guest of the programme, Dr. Abemo, Registrar, NU spoke on the importance of such programmes and asked the farmers to adopt new technologies which would help them to increase productivity of crops leading to increase in their income.
The farmers were provided with various farm implements developed by VKPAS, Almora, Uttarakhand keeping in mind the requirements of hill farmers. These equipment are easy to handle in hilly terrain and are lightweight, it informed.
Farmers were also provided with storage bags and kits to prevent storage loss in paddy crops along with knapsack sprayer.
