Nagaland tribal hohos appeal eastern Nagas to reconsider their demand for separate ‘entity’
Dimapur, Dec. 7 (EMN): The leaders of tribal hohos of Nagaland on Wednesday resolved to appeal to the eastern Nagas to reconsider their demand for a separate “entity” so that “we can live and move ahead together as one for posterity”.
The resolution was passed after a thorough deliberation on the issue pertaining to the demand of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) for a separate “entity” (separate state), at a consultative meeting of eight tribal hohos namely Angami Public Organisation, Ao Senden, Lotha Hoho, Chakhesang Public Organisation, Sümi Hoho, Rengma Hoho, Pochury Hoho and Nagaland Zeliang Public Organisation.
The meeting was held on December 7 at Angami Public Organisation Hall in Kohima, according to a joint statement signed by the presidents (chairman) of eight tribal hohos of Nagaland.
“The house is of the opinion that as Nagas, it is desirable that every Naga should live as one in one umbrella. Further, disintegration of Naga society and demarcation of our land will cause more harm than good for the Nagas,” read the press statement.
