Dimapur, May 13 (EMN): Ayulcr Tea Private Limited and Tea Board of India (TBI) conducted a organic tea farming, quality control and certification training at Akumen village, Mokokchung district on May 12.
Kamal Mazumdar, Development Officer TBI was the resource person and spoke about the quality of organic tea over quantity in traditional tea farming, which does not have high demand in market but has health benefits, an update informed.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]He further informed the tea growers about using locally available resources to make fertiliser and pesticides to control the disease and not use expensive unhealthy chemical.
Informing that under Ayulcr Tea Company, TBI is ready to venture into projects and help the Naga tea growers, he invited interested farmers to register for a free week-long training on organic farming in Jorhat Agri College.
Limanungsang Jamir, the managing director of Ayulcr tea Company encouraged the tea growers to continue expanding the farming area and control the use of chemicals. He also informed that work for factory setup at Akumen village has begun.
More than 60 individual tea growers from Akumen, Tsuremmen and surrounding region attended the training programme.
