Dimapur, Dec. 12 (EMN): Nagaland is all set to launch the first phase Intensive Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) 2021 on January 17 followed by house-to-house visitation on January 18 and 19 next.
This was informed by Dr. Rebecca Y Sema, DPO (RCH/UIP), during a meeting of the Dimapur district task force for Covid-19 vaccine-cum-IPPI 2021 held in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office on December 11.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Dimapur, stated that she highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the district task force for Covid-19 vaccine and also updated the members on healthcare workers database collection. She also informed that the beneficiary list for the database has been collected from all government as well as private health facilities including ASHAs and AWWs under Dimapur district. She further added that healthcare workers as potential vaccinators were also identified while collecting the beneficiary list.
It stated that UNDP project officer, Rajesh, also updated the members on the cold chain status. He stated that the cold chain points currently used for routine immunisation would also be used for Covid-19 vaccine.
He further informed the members on the procedure for collection of the beneficiary list and uploading the list on Co-Win software.
The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soudararajan, who also chaired the meeting, urged the members to lend their support during the preparatory phase as well as during the implementation phase upon the availability of Covid-19 vaccine.
