DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Government Teachers’ Association (erstwhile SSA & RMSA 2010 and 2013 batches) has served a seven-day ultimatum to the Directorate of School Education demanding inclusion of their salary component in the State Non-Plan Budget.
In a press release issued by the association’s media cell on Tuesday, the ultimatum was stated to be effective from February 16 to the 24th.
The association, comprising 2,293 members, said their services were formally mainstreamed into the State Education Cadre vide Order No. DSE/SSA-RMSA/COM/18-86/2021 dated September 2, 2022 with effect from April 21, 2022, pursuant to Cabinet approval conveyed vide No. CAB-2/2013 dated April 21, 2022.
However, it stated that even after more than three years, their salaries continue to be drawn under CSS funding instead of under the appropriate State Account Head applicable on par with other regular State Cadre employees.

According to the association, it had earlier submitted a detailed representation on May 9, 2025, followed by a reminder dated July 31, 2025, requesting inclusion of the salary component in the State Non-Plan Budget, but the government has been inconsistent with the decision in principle.
The ultimatum addressed to the Principal Director of School Education urged the department to take immediate and time-bound action within seven days of receipt of the notice.
The association further stated that if the matter remains unresolved within the stipulated period, it may be compelled to consider appropriate democratic and collective steps to seek an amicable resolution.
