Nagaland take 186-run lead over Manipur in Ranji Trophy match
DIMAPUR — At the end of Day 2 on Saturday in the Ranji Trophy 2024-2025 match at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, Nagaland took a lead of 186 runs over Manipur.
After a first-inning lead of 98 runs, Nagaland ended their second inning at 88/2 in 31 overs, stated an update from the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA).
Nagaland was bowled out for 237 in their first inning, facing 89.4 overs. Sedezhalie Rupreo top-scored with 57 runs off 124 balls, while Nischal Dega made 49 runs from 75 balls. Hokaito Zhimomi contributed 55 runs from 176 balls, aiding Nagaland’s recovery from early setbacks. Chetan Bisht added 36 runs to the total.
Manipur’s Jotin Pheiroijam took four wickets while Kabir and Ajay Singh claimed three and two wickets, respectively.
Manipur was bowled out for 139 in their first inning, facing 51.1 overs. The team struggled, losing early wickets, with Jotin Pheiroijam top-scoring at 58 runs. Rex contributed 27 runs, while P. Prafullomani added 20 runs.
Nagaland’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Suchith, who took five wickets. Captain Jonathan Rongsen claimed three wickets, while Imliwati took two.
In their second inning, Nagaland’s Nischal Dega is unbeaten on 62*, while Hem is on 11*. Kabir and Ajay Singh each took one wicket for Manipur.
