Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Nagaland organised a rally in Dimapur on Wednesday to protest rising unemployment in the country.
Interestingly, the students protested by serving ‘chai’ and ‘pakoda’ to passersby at Supermarket area.
President of NSUI, Chophika told journalists that ‘we are making and serving pakado and chai to register our protest against raising unemployment’.
“As we are all aware, unemployment has reached the highest in the last 45 years and the government has made so many false promises about providing jobs and employment to the youths,” he said.
While maintaining that it is not possible for the government to provide jobs to everyone and the youths are not demanding employment in public sector for all, the student leader claimed that “the existing jobs are being lost (sic)”. “So, this is an initiative of NSUI,” he added.
He informed that the campaign called ‘Naukari do ya degree wapas lo’ was launched last month and the protest this time was primarily against the rising unemployment.
