Nagaland students reach home after tour of Ahmedabad

DIMAPUR — The National Integration Tour for students of Nagaland who visited Ahmedabad reached Nagaland on Monday.

They were received by Major General Vikas Lakhera, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North), at Ghaspani, Chümoukedima.

According to a press release, the tour was organised by the Assam Rifles, and it included 18 students (nine girls and nine boys) from Modern College, Piphema, as well as two professors.

The ten-day tour began on September 28 from Ghaspani.

The tour aimed to provide the students of Nagaland with comprehensive exposure to various inspirational, educational, and industrial institutions in the state of Gujarat and to bring about all-round growth.

The tour included visits to national monuments such as the Statue of Unity, National War Memorial, Sabarmati Ashram, ISRO Space Centre, Science City, and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, among others.

Lakhera, the culmination event's chief guest, addressed the gathering on the occasion, emphasising Assam Rifles' commitment to the bright future of people in the northeast, particularly Nagaland.

He said that the experience and exposure gained by the students during the tour will help bring about a positive change in their personal lives as well as the future of Nagaland.
