Philatelic exhibition from March 7
The Department of Posts, Nagaland division is conducting state level ‘Philatelic Exhibition Nagapex 2014 on March 7 and 8 at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Dimapur for promoting the ‘King of Hobbies’. Governor of Nagaland, Dr Ashwani Kumar will grace the opening ceremony on March 7 as chief guest at 11 am, a press note informed.

Dikoi Village Council prohibits
The Dikoi Village Council has ‘strictly prohibited any kind of construction and jungle clearance’ under the village jurisdiction without prior knowledge of the council members. “Anyone found constructing any kind of structure or clearing jungle will be doing so at their own risk,” Zandi Domta and Veshekho Cho-o, DVC chairman and secretary respectively stated in a press release.AME demands recruitment of vacant post

The Association of Mechanic Engineers (AME) has appealed the authority ‘to advertise and recruit’ the vacant post of Er Toshi Sangtam, Asst Mechanical Engineer (Works & Housing) Mon who had taken voluntary retirement w.e.f February 28. In a press note, AME president Er Pavito and general secretary Er Joyson Pfithu demanded that the vacant post should be recruited directly through NPSC ‘without any bias’. The release has further appealed all unemployed mechanical engineers to stand firm by this demand.

BPL&AAY card holders informed
Head GB –cum chairman of Industrial village Razhuphe, Dimapur, TL Angami has directed all the BPL and AAY card holder within the village to surrender their respective cards before the village council on or before March 8. In a press release, the head GB stated that the directive has been issued following a directive received from the concerned department and further cautioned that failing which there would be no further consideration.

VCC elects new team
Veterinary Colony Council has appointed new team of executives for the tenure 2014-19 headed by D Yongnyak Konyak as chairman and member of DUCCCF, Takameren as vice chairman, S Tokiho Swu as general secretary, Nchumbemo Odyuo as joint secretary and Neizo Chale as treasurer. The executive members are Kihovi Sumi, Imrong Ao, Rutsangktu Tikhir, Vikholie Kezio Angami, Keneingullie Chakhesang and Thungdemo Jami Lotha.

NCSU Dmp supports central office
Dimapur unit of the Nagaland Contractors and Supliers’ Union has supported the decision of the central office against misuse of writing pad and the recommendations to district units on new registration and renewal of identity card. The unit press secretary, A Tureng, has directed the members to remain vigilant and report to the office against misuse of the writing pad by unregistered members. It has also urged the departments not to issue work order to unregistered NCSU members in violation of the government standing order but to maintain open tender system. The unit has decided to verify on works allotted to unregistered NCSU members and ascertain whether the open tender system has been followed. The unit has also requested all members to renew their identity card at the earliest, while stating that the Union office would be open every Wednesday.

NEAC observed in Pfutsero
Rural Education & Action for Change (REACH) has organized a National Environment Awareness Campaign (NEAC) 2013-14 at Reku Colony in Pfutsero on February 22 on the theme ‘Biodiversity conservation.’ The programme was sponsored by the Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) and Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India. Er. Reneilo Nuh, Assistant Director of New & Renewable Resources, who was the resource person, has emphasized on environmental issues and climate change. He has encouraged the public actively involve and participate in such activities.

Refund of SD to ex-servicemen
The Zila Sainik Welfare office, Kohima has informed all members of the Kohima district ex-servicemen, that due to stoppage of payment of rations by the army the security deposits made by ex-servicemen are being refunded. The refund money may be collected from the Zila Sainik Welfare office during office hours upto March 31.

WSBAK pastors’ seminar
The WSBAK is conducting Pastors’ seminar from March 6-8 under the theme, ‘Imitating Christ Humility’ (Phil 2:6-11) at Aküvüto, WSBAK Mission Centre. Therefore, executive secretary, Rev S Vitoshe Swu has informed all the pastors under WSBAK to attend the seminar and be blessed.
