The event is organised by Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and hosted by Chümoukedima District Football Association (CDFA).

He said that futsal is a game of skills and expressed optimism that if Nagas take up this game seriously, then they can excel not only in the country but at the international level too.

The advisor exhorted that in sports and games, a player cannot succeed if he or she lacks discipline, and commitment and does not believe in oneself.

To the players, Zhaleo urged them to display the best sportsmanship. He also cautioned the spectators and players not to indulge in alcohol and drugs.

Neibou Sekhose, president of NFA, in his greeting message, said the Nagaland Futsal Championship will bring people from all over the state together to produce a galaxy of sportsmanship.

He was of the view there is a need to organise more tournaments so that people of the state may come together more often in the spirit of unity.

He further advised the players that to be the best or on the top, one needs to walk the extra mile and not only depend on clubs, associations or government, but have courage, and work hard with commitment to achieve their goal.
