Nagaland State Commission for Women organizes awareness on mainstreaming gender in Pfutsero

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW), in collaboration with the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM), conducted an awareness programme on “Mainstreaming gender into development plans and policies” in Lasumi village under Pfutsero sub-division in Phek district on Thursday.
An update from NSCW stated that representatives from women organisations, village development board (VDB), village council, self help groups, District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), SAKHI-One Stop Centre (OSC) and district welfare officer attended the programme.
It stated that NSCW chairperson, W Nginyeih Konyak, delivered the keynote address and the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Pfutsero, Mhalo Humtsoe, delivered a short speech during the inaugural session.

In the technical session, Khriezovonuo Lhoungu, NSRLM state programme manager, spoke on “Gender integration and mainstreaming,” while Kekhrienuo Meyase, NSCW member, spoke on “Inclusion of women in planning and decision-making positions,” and Akokla Longchar, NSCW member, spoke on “Legal rights and constitutional provision for women,”
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Wepretsou Kupa, president of Cosmos WLCCS Ltd. Pfutsero.
