Dimapur, Oct. 12 (EMN): The Nagaland state BJP legislators led by Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton have left for New Delhi to meet India’s interlocutor for Naga peace talks AK Mishra, NSCN (IM) and Working Committee Naga National Political Groups (WC NNPG).

This came close on the heels of state government’s Core Committee on Naga Political Issue led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio meeting Mishra and NSCN (IM) leaders in the national capital.

An update from the deputy CM informed that “the team will aloso meet with other central leaders as facilitators, to urge upon them to expedite the protracted Naga peace talks by hammering out differences for bringing about an acceptable and honourable solution which has eluded the people for decades”.

“The Nagaland state BJP and its legislators believe that peace can be achieved only by meaningful and respectable deliberations,” it said, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are very serious about solving the Naga issue.

The delegation also extended its gratitude to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his proactive role in reaching out to different parties during these crucial talks.
