Dr. Nicky graces TTYO sports meet

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 13

Two-day sports meet organized by Tsiepfü-Tsiepfhe Youth Organization (TTYO) Kohima concluded on Saturday at D-Khel Ground, Kohima Village. Parliamentary secretary for Law & Justice, Dr. Neikesalie (Nicky) Kire who graced the closing function as special guest, expressed appreciation to the TTYO for displaying unity through sports. He exhorted the youth that people can achieve anything if they are united. He said that the TTYO organizing the sports meet and coming to play together is a demonstration of harmony amongst the youth of the colony and further urged them to continue with such activities not only in their area but with the youth of other colonies as well. He also called upon them to emulate good things from others and leave behind bad ones so that they may build a prosperous society.
TTYO vice president, Impu, who also spoke on the occasion, said Tsiepfü-Tsiepfhe (AG colony) is one of the largest colonies of the state capital with three sectors- Upper, Middle and Lower sectors. He stated that the youth of the colony, under the aegis of TTYO, organizes sports meet once in two years with the view to share knowledge and skills as well as sportsmanship through the disciplines of football, volleyball and basketball. He acknowledged the elders union and taxi association of Tsiepfü-Tsiepfhe, Kohima for showing support to the activities of the youth and for participating in the event this year.
The winners of the tournament are: Volleyball (Men)- Upper Sector, Volleyball (Women)- Upper Sector), Basketball (Men)- Middle Sector, Basketball (Women)- Lower Sector, and Football- Upper Sector. The trophies and prizes were handed out to the winners by the parliamentary secretary, Dr. Nicky Kire.

SATball Running Trophy from Nov 12

The 4th SATball Running Trophy 2013 will be held from November 12 to14 at Government Higher Secondary School ground, Dimapur.
The champions will receive a cash prize of Rs.30, 000 along with a running trophy while the runners-up will receive Rs.15, 000. There will be other prizes as well.
Interested clubs can avail the forms from Kiran Sports, Nyamo Lotha Road, Dimapur and SHOW OFF Shop, near auto parking, Jalukie Town. The cost of the form is Rs.200 and the last date for form submission is November 5.

Zasineihu Memorial Trophy from Dec 17

The Western Angami Students’ Union (WASU) will organize the 2nd edition of “Zasineihu Memorial Trophy” from December 17 to 19 at Jotsoma village. The three (3) days event will be hosted by the Jotsoma Student Union. All the units (village) under the Western Angami Students’ Union (WASU) are compulsory to participate in the tournament (Football), informed WASU through a press release.
The entry form is Rs.1000 and will be issued from November 1.
The Organizing committee members of Zasineihu Memorial Trophy 2013 are Vizakietuo Nagi as convenor, Rokovitso Savino as co-convenor and Vibeilie Seyie as the treasurer. The members are Rülhoulie khawakhrie, Keviuchüto Kuotsu, Theja Chüsi, Er. Keneilhousa, Rokophrezo Rocus Rino, Rokoketou Sechü and Kedoroko Casavi as ex-officio member.
