Nagaland soon to host International Taekwondo C’ship

Nagaland will soon see the International Taekwondo stars taking their bout in Kohima.
Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA) President Alemtemshi Jamir , while speaking at the prize distribution cum closing program of  two-day 26th Nagaland State Taekwondo  Championship organized by Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA) and hosted by Kohima District Taekwondo Association(KDTA) at Kohima Science  College Auditorium , Jotsoma on Friday, revealed that the NTA plan to host an International Taekwondo championship in Kohima.  The President revealed that a team of NTA will meet the officials Kukkiwon, World Taekwondo Federation and discuss the matter for the hosting of the International championship.
An able administrator, Alemtemshi Jamir, who is also the State Chief Secretary, is heading the NTA as President since 1999 till date also announced that NTA will meet the officials of Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) to pitch in for the possible hosting of National Level Taekwondo Championship in Kohima.
Sending a strong challenge to Taekwondo coaches, the President said that the coaches should take ardent responsibility to train the players, so that a player from Nagaland should at-least represent at the Olympics Games in 2020 in the discipline of Taekwondo.
Sounding optimism, he also assured that the NTA would do its best effort to promote the game and hoped that more and more players from the state would be able to win medals at the national international events in the years ahead.
The President also announced that Dimapur District Taekwondo Association (DDTA) would be hosting the 27th edition of NTA meet in 2014.
