Nagaland secure third position in AITWPF

Kohima, May 21 (EMN): A team from the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) participated in the All India Traditional Wrestling and Pankration Federation (AITWPF) cup 2022 held at Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium Bhudapura Raipur from May 12 to the 15th.

An update from NWA Press Secretary, C Theyo informed that the state team won 21 medals and secured third position in the overall traditional wrestling.

Mhasisetuo Pfukha, Tsuhveto Resuh, Ruguotuolie Metha, Vizoseo Metha, Kusayi Tsutso, Seyiejalie Gwirie, Huluyi D Vadeo and Kezhaseluo Peinyu secured the gold in belt wrestling (boys), while Seyieteiso Rutsa won silver and Kevizhakho Soukhrie won bronze medal.

In the girls’ category, Sezolu Luruo won silver, while Batsuvelu Venuh won bronze.

Meanwhile in Mas-wrestling (boys), Vizoseo Metha, Ruguotuolie Metha, Tsüveto Resuh, Huluyi D Vadeo, Kezhaseluo Pienyu and Seyiekhrietuo Yiese won a gold each. Seyieteiso Rutsa won silver and Kevizhakho Soukhrie won bronze. Further, Vekhonielu Curhah also won silver in Mas-wrestling.

Team Nagaland was led by C Theyo as team manager, Icetdaile as assistant manager and Visevo Zashumo as team coach.
