Nagaland State Election Commission designates Revising Authorities for municipal bye-elections in three town councils.

DIMAPUR — The State Election Commission, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 31(1) of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023, read with sub-rule (2) (iv) of Rule 20 and sub-rule (6) of Rule 27 of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023, has designated the deputy commissioners of Chümoukedima, Wokha and Zunheboto as “Revising Authority” for their respective districts on behalf of the commission.
According to the notification, the designated authorities will dispose of revision applications, if any, received in connection with the scrutiny of nominations during the conduct of the bye-elections to Ward No. 11 (Chaara) of Chümoukedima Town Council, Ward No. 8 (Tsumang ‘B’) of Wokha Town Council, and Ward No. 9 (Samba Ghoki) of Atoizu Town Council.
The notification further stated that the designated deputy commissioners, upon receipt of any revision application under sub-rule (6) of Rule 27, shall hear and dispose of such applications in the manner prescribed under sub-rule (7) of the Rules on or before the date specified in the “Election Programme” notified on May 15, 2026.
