Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): Adding one more feather to its hat, Dimapur-based Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) has been ranked India’s No. 1 school for co-curricular education. The school was awarded for the achievement at the India’s School Merit Award 2018 event held in Bengaluru last weekend.
The school was felicitated at the same event last year after being ranked No. 13 school in India, No.1 in Nagaland, and No.1 in Dimapur.

“After scrutinising more than 1300 survey forms, Livingstone Foundation Hr. Sec. School was ranked as No.1 school in India under the Top Day-cum-Boarding School – Parameter Wise for ‘Co-curricular Education’ by Education Today,” according to a statement from the school.

Director of the school Ani Yepthomi received the award at the annual India School Merit Awards function held at Bengaluru on Dec. 8. It was awarded based on overall jury rating; parent’s votes (80,521 votes) and the Education Today team analysis.

According to a statement from the school, it (school) has been given the award because of its ‘efforts in enhancing the area of skill development of the students by incorporating numerous skill-based activities and events throughout the academic session of the school every year.’ It does not emphasise on academic excellence alone but puts extra focus on co-curricular education.

The school conducts as many as 170 activities out of a total of 220 working days in its effort to go beyond beyond-classroom learning and thus earning the appreciation of the educationists from across the country.
Top 200 schools and 50 pre-schools in ‘international, Boarding, CBSE, ICSE, state, boys and girls, and pre-school category were selected out of the survey that was conducted by the Assessment Team and categorized under 10 parameters – academic reputation, individual attention, infrastructure provision, innovative leadership management quality, co-curricular activities and value education.
