Dimapur, Nov. 24 (EMN): The Sand Stockist and Suppliers’ Unions of Dimapur and Chümoukedima, and Assam Sand Supply and Truck Owner Association Nagaland, have lifted the ban on import of sand from Bokajan side of Assam from Friday (November 25).

The decision to this effect was taking during an emergency meeting on Nov. 24.

In a joint statement, the three bodies stated that indefinite ban on sand imposed in the state has led to exorbitant rise in its price causing hardship to the public.

During the meeting on Thursday, the bodies however resolved to continue the indefinite ban on sand from Manja side of Assam, as the matter had not been resolved.

It therefore urged all the sand stockist and suppliers to report to the bodies if anyone was found violating the ban.

Further, in order to control the “self-style” fixation of sand price, it resolved to fix the price of sand for all stockist and suppliers as follows.
