Nagaland: Sainik School Punglwa conducts marathon

Dimapur, Nov. 12 (EMN): Sainik School, Punglwa conducted an inter-house marathon on Saturday with the principal of the school Group Capt. RK Yadav as chief guest.

Cadets of different houses were categorised in two groups — group A comprising classes 10 and 11 (5000 meter) and group B comprising classes 8 and 9(5000 meter).

In group A category, Cadet S Rito of Doyang house completed his run in 17:29 seconds and secured the first position. Cadet Sukhru of Tizu house secured the second position clocking in at 17:34 seconds whereas Cadet Ghuinato of Doyang house stood third completing his run in 17:41 seconds.

While in group B, Cadet Yazei Konyak of Patkai house secured the first position clocking in at 17:45. Cadet Musho B of Patkai house stood second completing his run in 17:45 seconds and Cadet Akash Kumar of Melak House stood third completing his run in 17:52 seconds.

According to an update, the marathon also included participation from staff of the school.

It said that the chief guest presented the certificates and medals to all the winners, and encouraged the cadets to continue striving hard for the best in the future.
