Dimapur, Aug. 11 (EMN): Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) organised a webinar on a theme ‘Intersection of Life, Work and Faith – The Way Forward’ on August 11.

The resources persons of the webinar were Adjunct speaker of RZIM Krish Dhanam, and speaker and trainer of RZIM India Kethoser (Aniu) Kevichusa.

Speaking on the topic “Adapting to the changing landscape”, Dhanam said preparation is vital and that one must research and prepare in whatever they are interested in. He said that the second component, learning is critical and it is called source, course and force, while explaining that ‘source is what comes to it, course is what flows through it and force is what flows from it’.

‘When learning becomes critical, make sure learning is legitimate and withstand scrutiny of time,’ the speaker advised, adding that most people depend on mental, physical and spiritual learning, which means some of the learning have to be augmented.

The third component, Dhanam said, was activity. ‘It has to be timely activity and the goal to create in one’s self desire and discipline that get rid of laziness and remove the laziness thoughts and make an effort to be notice by others,’ he explained.

‘The fourth step is navigation and sometime their goals are going to derail, like they are in the current situation,’ he said, adding that ‘one’s destination stays the same but only the direction begin to change and this is where navigation is important’. Navigation is also called future skills attitude, which means it is planning today for tomorrow that one cannot see, he went on to say.

Dhanam concluded by saying: ‘As an individual, we deny our talents and our abilities because to except, will now force us to use them. It is very easy to catch up in the mire and misery of the moment.’

Kevichusa, who spoke the topic “Excellence at workplace”, said that everyone wants to be effective in whatever professions they are in and suggested six tips to be more effective.

The first component he suggested was “calling”, saying that ‘as a Christian, one must understand the calling and it has to be rediscovered’.

‘Call by God and commission by God and the calling is not only the ministry or preachers but calling is to everyone,’ he said, adding that ‘One must search God in business, corporate, ministry administration etc. and one needs to understand calling and make sure that one’s find calling in life.’

Kevichusa said whatever profession one is in, ‘one must lay it down before God and pick it up again like it is mentioned in the Bible about Moses’ identity, represent and influence.

The second tip he mentioned was “collaboration”. He said God always collaborates with human. ‘Bible begins in Genesis and ends in the garden city,’ he said, adding that the garden is the work of God and city is the work of man’.

The third tip was “commitment”. Stating that one must take one’s work seriously, he urged to do small things in big ways with commitment under the authority of God and work unto God but not for human beings.

On the fourth tip was “competence”. He one has to be competent in order to excel in life and to make a difference in the world. He added that in order to become world class level expert, researchers found out that one has to put in 10000 hours of practice.

The fifth tip Kevichusa mentioned was “character”. Informing that in Greek, the word character means engraving an image on a coin, he said one must not forget the component of character.

Kevichusa said the last component was “communion” with God. He recalled an event in 2005 when the 100 years of Baptist World Alliance was celebrated at Birmingham in England. He informed that the 39th USA president, Jimmy Carter, who also attended the event, lowered his head more than other delegates, humbling himself before God.

Mentioning the story of David in the Bible, he urged everyone to serve the purpose of God.
