Dimapur, April 11 (EMN): The department of Health and Family Welfare, government of Nagaland, has announced that all citizens aged 18 to 59 can avail the ‘precaution dose’ of Covid-19 vaccine on completion of 9 months (i.e. 39 weeks or 273 days) from the date of administration of second dose.
It came days after the government of India announced availability of precaution dose for all adults in the country starting from April 10.
The update from Health department informed that eligible citizens will be vaccinated with the same vaccine as previous two doses (Covishield or Covaxin) on production of second dose certificate along with the same ID proof and registered mobile phone number used for availing the second dose.
The eligible citizens can avail the precaution dose at private hospital Covid Vaccination Centres (CVCs) by booking an appointment or through walk-in.
The department went on to inform that the precaution dose vaccination will be available only at selected private hospitals that are registered as CVCs, but other interested private hospitals can approach office of the Chief Medical Officer for registration as a CVC on CoWIN.
It added that vaccination of precaution dose for healthcare workers, frontline workers and citizens aged 60 and above will continue free of charge at government CVCs.
It is informed that about 96% of the population aged above15 have received at least one dose while 84% of this population is now fully vaccinated under the national Covid-19 vaccination programme.
