Nagaland: Rio writes letters to NBSE toppers, successful HSLC students

Dimapur, June 8 (EMN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has written personal letters to the toppers of this year’s Nagaland Board of School Education examinations and all students who have cleared the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination of 2020.

According to a DIPR report on Monday, the chief minister had written the personalised letters addressed to each of the successful students on May 30.

It stated that Rio, in his letter, said that clearing the HSLC hurdle is not just an important achievement in the academic career of a student but a major milestone for every individual.

“He reminded the students to rededicate themselves towards successfully sailing over the forthcoming challenges and also encouraged them to enjoy the experiences, celebrate the joys of life and always aspire to be a contributing member of society,” read the report.

“It takes a tremendous amount of hard work, of more than a decade of school life and many sacrifices, to reach where you are today. We are all proud of you,” he wrote.

The chief minister also referred to the ongoing challenges of Covid-19 pandemic in his letter to the students. He shared that the ‘dynamics of our lives have been altered, forever’.

Rio reminded them of the need to adapt and acclimatise themselves to the changing times and become successful agents of change, the report stated.

He urged all the students to be responsible citizens, to make efforts to ensure a cleaner and safer planet, work towards gender equality, be agents of peace, and forever spread kindness.

“Rio further called upon the students to be proud ambassadors of our state, its rich culture and our vibrant way of life,” it added.
