DIMAPUR — The Pre-State Shooting Championship 2026 in small-bore rifle and pistol events will be held at the Aries Sports Complex Shooting Ranges in Bamunpukhuri-I, Dimapur, from June 16 to the 19th.
Organised by the Aries Rifle and Pistol Shooting Academy and the Khelo India Centre, Dimapur, the championship will be conducted by the Nagaland Rifle Association.
According to an update, participation is open to registered shooters of affiliated district rifle associations, clubs, and academies. The competition will be conducted in individual events, and furnishing wrong information for registration will attract disqualification.
The entries will be accepted from respective district associations, clubs, and academies in Nagaland. Registration with a normal fee will be accepted until 6:30 pm on June 1. Late entries with a triple entry fee will be accepted until 6:30 pm on June 3.

Regarding age categories, juniors (21 years) must be born in 2005 or after; youth (19 years or before) must be born in 2007 or after; and sub-youth (16 years or before) must be born in 2010 or after. Masters (45 to 60 years) should have completed 45 years one day before the competition. Senior masters (60 to 70 years) should have completed 60 years one day before the competition, while super masters (70 years) should have completed 70 years one day before the competition.
The update stated that juniors may participate in the senior category. Youth may participate in senior and junior category matches. Sub-youth category shooters are allowed to participate in all categories except master and senior master matches.
Shooters who have not received or applied for their shooter ID must immediately visit the NRAI website to check their status or apply for it. Shooters who are already in possession of a shooter ID are not required to apply for fresh registration, and entries will be accepted on their existing registration.
The protest fee is INR 200, and in case an appeal is filed with the jury of appeal, the fee is INR 500. The fee will be returned if the protest is upheld and retained by the organisers if the protest is lost.
The competition will be conducted according to national and ISSF rules and regulations. The organisers will have the right to close any match or event in case of any emergency or otherwise without assigning any reason.
The update warned that shooting practice in hotels is strictly prohibited. In case of non-participation by the competitors after submission of their entries, a refund of the entry fee will not be allowed.
No request for any adjustment of participation dates and allocation of lanes shall be entertained. The time and details will be notified before the competition. Shooters are required to enter the range 90 minutes before the reporting time.
