Nagaland: Retaining wall collapses in Jail Colony

Kohima, Oct. 1 (EMN): The Reinforce Cement Concrete (RCC) retaining wall behind the staff quarter of BSNL Telephone exchange office facing towards Jail Colony Kohima collapsed on Thursday afternoon.

According to the eye witnesses, the incident happened at around 1 pm following an incessant rain. It was informed that at least five motorcycles belonging to some business establishments delivering online goods and private individuals were reportedly damaged in the incident.

Meanwhile, the vice-chairman of Jail Colony panchayat informed Eastern Mirror that the district administration and disaster management rushed to the area and took stock of the incident.

It was further informed that the residents were evacuated and shifted to safer area as part of precautionary measure.
