Nagaland: Restriction of vehicular movement on NH-29 lifted

Dimapur, March 24 (EMN): The timing restriction on movement of vehicles between Chathe River Bridge (Patkai Bridge) and Khuokhi River Bridge (Kukidolong) between Dimapur and Kohima has been lifted.

The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, informed through a notification on Wednesday that the lifting of traffic restriction would come into force with immediate effect and till further orders for the convenience of the general public.

“However, restriction may be imposed as and when necessary if need arises. All the commuters and plying vehicles shall strictly adhere to all the precautions and traffic regulations and maintain a distance of at least 10 metres between vehicles in the said stretch,” read the order.

It added that traffic personnel will strictly monitor and facilitate the movement of vehicles.

The district administration had earlier issued travel window for vehicles on the particular stretch of road to facilitate the construction of National Highway-29 four-lane road.
