Nagaland reports single-day 49 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death

Dimapur, Aug. 25 (EMN): Nagaland reported single-day rise of 49 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking the state’s tally to 29,718.
The state’s death toll increased to 598 with one fatality reported in the last 24 hours, while the cumulative recoveries rose to 27,373 after 62 patients recuperated.
The department of Health and Family Welfare updated that 24 fresh cases were detected in Dimapur, 11 in Mokokchung, nine in Kohima, two in Longleng, and one each in Mon, Wokha and Zunheboto.
Out of the 62 patients who recovered on Wednesday, 37 were in Dimapur, 12 in Kohima, five each in Mokokchung and Mon, and three in Kiphire.
The state currently has 871 active cases, out of which 692 are asymptomatic, 143 mild, 13 moderate on oxygen, nine severe on oxygen, four in ICU without ventilator, and 10 in ICU on ventilator.
In terms of district-wise distribution of active Covid cases, Dimapur leads with 315, followed by Kohima with 229, Mokokchung- 221, Wokha- 24, Mon- 17, Zunheboto- 15, Tuensang- 9, Peren- 9, Kiphire- 9, and Longleng- 8.
37593 new cases in India
Meanwhile, India logged 37,593 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to 3,25,12,366 and active caseload to 3,22,327, according to the data provided by the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll climbed to 4,35,758 on Wednesday following 648 fresh fatalities, while 34,169 recoveries pushed the total recoveries to 3,17,54,281 at 97.67% recovery rate.
‘The weekly positivity rate is 1.92% and daily positivity rate is 2.10%,’ informed the update.
