Nagaland reports 44 new Covid-19 cases, 4 deaths in 24 hours; Phek becomes Covid-free

Dimapur, Aug. 16 (EMN): Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 29,195 as 44 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported on Monday.
However, Phek district become Covid-free on August 16 after the recovery of its four patients.
The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 44 new positive cases detected on Monday, Mokokchung reported 15 infections, 14 in Kohima, 11 in Dimapur, two in Peren and, one each in Longleng and Mon.
The state’s death toll increased to 591 with four more fatalities reported in the last 24 hours while the state’s recoveries rose to 26,601 with 111 patients having recuperated.
On Monday, 31 patients recovered in Dimapur, 28 in Zunheboto, 21 in Kohima, nine in Longleng, eight in Mokokchung, six in Peren, four in Phek, two in Tuensang, and one each in Kiphire and Mon.
Nagaland currently has 1,153 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 904 are asymptomatic, 202 mild, 20 moderate on oxygen, 12 severe on oxygen, 10 in ICU without ventilator and five in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur as the highest infections with 441, followed by Kohima with 274, 223 in Mokokchung, 44 in Zunheboto, 42 in Wokha, 39 in Peren, 36 in Tuensang, 20 in Mon, 19 in Longleng and 15 in Kiphire.
