Nagaland reports 81 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths; tally stands at 28709

Nagaland’s Covid-19 tally has increased to 28,709 as 81 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported on Monday.

The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 81 new positive cases detected in the last 24 hours, Dimapur and Mokokchung reported 17 cases each, 13 in Zunheboto, 11 each in Kohima and Tuensang, seven in Peren, four in Wokha, and one in Kiphire.

However, the state’s death toll remained the same at 571 with no fatalities reported on Monday, while the total number of recoveries rose to 25,906 after 60 patients — 33 in Kohima, 14 in Dimapur, nine in Mokokchung and four in Peren – recovered.

Nagaland currently has 1,397 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 1136 are asymptomatic, 207 mild, 23 moderate on oxygen, 15 severe on oxygen, six in ICU without ventilator, and 10 in ICU on ventilator.

In regard to district-wise distribution of Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has 461 patients, 379 in Kohima, 220 in Mokokchung, 87 in Peren, 67 in Tuensang, 58 in Zunheboto, 33 in Longleng, 27 in Mon, 26 in Wokha, 20 in Phek, and 19 in Kiphire.

35499 new cases in India

Meanwhile, India reported 35,499 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to 3,19,69,954 (3.19 crore) and active caseload to 4,02,188 (4.02 lakh) which constitutes 1.26% of the total cases, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The country also registered 39,686 recoveries in the last 24 hours, pushing the total number of recuperated patients to 3,11,39,457 (3.11 crore) at recovery rate of 97.40%.

Weekly positivity rate remains below 5%, currently at 2.35%, while daily positivity rate is 2.59%, informed the update.
