Nagaland reports 8 new Covid-19 cases; 18k in India

Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of eight new Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the tally to 31449.

The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 29,505 with 25 more patients having recuperated in the last 24 hours. The death toll stands at 656 with zero deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, five new cases were reported from Kohima, twp from Dimapur and one from Mokokchung. 

Nagaland currently has 259 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 187 are asymptomatic, 52 mild, seven moderate on oxygen, eight severe on oxygen, one in ICU without ventilator, and four in ICU ventilator.

India reports 18k new cases

 India logged 18,166 new coronavirus infections on Sunday, taking the country’s total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,39,53,475, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

It said the death toll climbed to 4,50,589 with 214 fresh fatalities.

Meanwhile, the active cases declined to 2,30,971 with the recovery of 23,624 patients in the last 24 hours.

It stated that with the administration of 66,85,415 vaccine doses, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crossed 94 crore (94,70,10,175).
