Nagaland reports 59 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death

Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 59 fresh Covid-19 positive cases on Tuesday, taking the tally to 34,986 and active caseload to 668.

The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 32,119 with the recovery of 78 more patients in the last 24 hours.

The death toll increased to 743 with one fresh death reported on Tuesday. 

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 47 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, eight in Kohima and four in Mokokchung.

Mean while, 63 recoveries were reported in Dimapur, six in Kohima, two in Mon, four in Wokha and three in Zunheboto.

Out 668 active cases in the state, 507 are asymptomatic, 144 mild, five moderate on oxygen, three severe on oxygen, three in ICU and six in ICU on ventilator

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 448 infections, 144 in Kohima, 30 in Tuensang, 19 in Mokokchung, 11 in Peren, four each in Wokha and Mon, five in Longleng, one each in Zunheboto, Kiphire and Phek.

India reports 67, 597 new cases

India saw a single-day rise of 67,597 new coronavirus infections on Tuesday, taking the country’s tally to 4,23,39,611, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

The death toll climbed to 5,04,062 with 1,188 fresh fatalities, the  data stated.

Meanwhile, the active Covid cases declined to 9,94,891, with the recovery of 1,80,456 patients in the last 24 hours.

With the administration of more than 55.78 lakh (55,78,297) vaccine doses, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 170.21 crore (1,70,21,72,615) .
