Nagaland reports 47 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death on Tuesday

Nagaland saw a single-day rise of 47 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, pushing the state’s tally to 29,669, while the active caseload dipped to 888 following the recovery of 73 patients.

The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 47 new positive cases detected on Tuesday, 18 were in Dimapur, 13 in Kohima, 11 in Mokokchung, three in Phek, and one each in Mon and Peren.

The state’s death toll increased to 597 following one more death being reported in the last 24 hours, while the cumulative recoveries rose to 27,311 after 73 patients recuperated.

On Tuesday, 26 patients recovered from Dimapur, 19 in Kohima, 12 in Mokokchung, six in Kiphire, four in Zunheboto, three in Mon, two in Peren and one in Tuensang.

Nagaland currently has 888 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 696 are asymptomatic, 150 mild, 18 moderate on oxygen, 11 severe on oxygen, three in ICU without ventilator, and 10 in ICU on ventilator.

In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has highest number with 330, followed by Kohima with 233, 215 in Mokokchung, 23 in Wokha, 21 in Mon, 15 in Phek, 14 in Zunheboto, 12 in Kiphire, 10 in Peren, nine in Tuensang, and six in Longleng.

25K new cases, 354 deaths in India

India reported 25,467 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, while the total tally of Covid-19 cases increased to 3,24,74,773, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

It said that the active cases also declined to 3,19,551.

Meanwhile, the death toll climbed to 4,35,110 with 354 fresh fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.

The recovery of 39,486 patients in the last 24 hours pushed the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,17,20,112.

Moreover, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 58.89 crore (58,89,97,805).
