Nagaland reports 4 new COVID cases

Dimapur, Aug. 10 (EMN): The number of active COVID-19 cases in Nagaland has declined to 46 with 13 recoveries – seven in Dimapur, three in Zunheboto, two in Kohima and one in Mokokchung — registered on Thursday.

The state’s COVID tally increased to 35,859, with four new cases – two in Mokokchung and one each in Kiphire and Kohima — logged during the same period.

An update from the Health department informed that the total recoveries increased to 33,534.

The death toll remained unchanged at 768 with no fresh fatality reported during the last 24 hours.

Out of the 46 active cases, 28 are asymptomatic, 16 mild and two moderate on oxygen.

In terms of district-wise distribution of cases, Dimapur has 11, seven each in Kohima and Mon, six in Longleng, four in Mokokchung, three each in Wokha and Zunheboto, two each in Tuensang and Kiphire, and one in Phek.

India reports 16,299 new COVID cases

India reported 16,299 new COVID-19 cases and 53 deaths, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.

With the latest fatalities, the nationwide death toll now stands at 5,26,879.

The active caseload declined to 1,25,076, accounting for 0.28 per cent of the country’s total positive cases.

The recovery of 19,431 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,35,55,041.

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 207.29 crore, achieved via 2,75,36,174 sessions.
