Nagaland reports 37 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths; 31923 infections in India
Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 37 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, taking the tally to 31,027 and active caseload to 467.
The state’s cumulative recoveries rose to 28,935 with 22 more patients having recuperated in the last 24 hours, while the death toll increased to 645 following two fatalities.
According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 18 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, 10 in Kohima, three in Mokokchung, two in Tuensang, and one each in Kiphire, Longleng, Phek and Wokha.
Of the 22 new recoveries, 16 were in Dimapur, three in Kohima, and one each in Mokokchung, Phek and Tuensang.
Nagaland currently has 467 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 356 are asymptomatic, 90 mild, six moderate on oxygen, seven severe on oxygen, four in ICU without ventilator, and four in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur leads with 217 cases, followed by Kohima with 105, 47 in Mokokchung, 38 in Tuensang, 25 in Phek, 13 in Wokha, nine in Kiphire, five in Longleng, four each in Zunheboto, and Peren, while Mon is currently Covid-free.
31923 new cases in India
India reported 31,923 new coronavirus infections on Thursday, taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,35,63,421, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
It said the death toll climbed to 4,46,050 with 282 fresh fatalities.
Meanwhile, the active cases declined to 3,01,640, with 31,990 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, pushing the total number of recoveries to 3,28,15,731.
It stated that with the administration of 71,38,205 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crossed 83 crore (83,39,90,049) .
