Nagaland reports 34 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths

Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 34 fresh Covid-19 positive cases on Sunday, taking the tally to 34,856 and active caseload to 739.

The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 31,968 with the recovery of 71 more patients in the last 24 hours.

The death toll increased to 739 with two fresh deaths on Sunday. 

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 23 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, 10 in Kohima and one in Phek.

Meanwhile, 57 recoveries were reported in Dimapur, 13 in Kohima, and one in Mokokchung.

Out 739 active cases in the state, 531 are asymptomatic, 150 mild, eight moderate on oxygen, one severe on oxygen, two in ICU and six in ICU on ventilator

India reports 1, 27,952 cases

India on Saturday recorded 1,27,952 fresh coronavirus cases taking the country’s infection tally to 4,20,80,664, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

The death toll climbed to 5,01,114 with 1,059 more fatalities, the data showed.

The number of active cases declined further to 13,31,648, with the recovery of 2,13,246 patients in the last 24 hours.

With the administration of more than 45 lakh (45,10,770) vaccine doses, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 169.46 crore (1,69,46,26,697).
