Nagaland reports 30 new Covid-19 cases, no deaths
India logs more than 24,000 infections
Dimapur, Oct. 2 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 30 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, taking the tally to 31,295 and active caseload to 352.
The state’s cumulative recoveries rose to 29,277 with recuperation of 23 more patients in the last 24 hours, while the death toll remained unchanged at 651 with no fresh fatality reported.
According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 20 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, four in Mokokchung, three each in Kohima, and Phek.
Of the 23 new recoveries, 15 were in Dimapur, four in Phek, three in Kohima, and one in Mokokchung.
Nagaland currently has 352 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 272 are asymptomatic, 61 mild, eight moderate on oxygen, five severe on oxygen, two in ICU without ventilator, and four in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has the highest number of positive cases with 206 active cases, followed by Kohima with 70, 41 in Mokokchung, 13 in Phek, nine in Kiphire, three in Tuensang, four in Wokha, two each in Peren and Mon and Longleng, while Zunheboto is currently Covid-free.
India logs 24354 new cases
India reported 24,354 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, taking the country’s tally to 3,37,91,06, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
It said the death toll climbed to 4,48,573 with 234 fresh fatalities.
Meanwhile, the active cases declined to 2,73,889 with the recovery of 25,455 patients in the last 24 hours. The total recoveries in the country rose to 3,30,68,599.
It stated that the administration of 69,33,838 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 89.74 crore (89,74,81,554).
