Nagaland reports 24 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death

Nagaland’s Covid-19 cases have increased to 31,397 and active caseload to 313 with 24 fresh infections recorded on Thursday.

The state’s cumulative recoveries rose to 29,411 with recuperation of 21 more patients in the last 24 hours, while the death toll increased to 653 after one fatality was reported.

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 13 positive cases were reported in Dimapur, five each in Kohima and Mokokchung, and one in Phek on Thursday.

Out of the 21 new recoveries, six each were reported in Dimapur, Kohima, and Mokokchung, two in Kiphire, and one Peren.

Nagaland currently has 313 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 230 are asymptomatic, 62 mild, six moderate on oxygen, six severe on oxygen, one in ICU without ventilator, and eight in ICU on ventilator.

In regard to district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has the highest number with 182, followed by Kohima with 58, 37 in Mokokchung, 11 in Phek, nine in Tuensang, five in Wokha, four each in Kiphire, and Mon, two in Longleng, and one in Peren, while Zunheboto is currently Covid-free.

India logs 22431 new cases

India reported 22,431 coronavirus infections on Thursday, taking India’s total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,38,94,312, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

It said the death toll climbed to 4,49,856 with 318 fresh fatalities.

Meanwhile, the active cases declined to 2,44,198, with the recovery of24, 602 patients in the last 24 hours, pushing the total number of recoveries to 3,32,00,258 so far.

It stated that with the administration of 43,09,525 vaccine doses, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 92.63 crore (92,63,68,608).
