Nagaland reports 2 new Covid cases, 7 recoveries

Dimapur, March 12 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of two fresh Covid-19 positive cases on Saturday, taking the tally to 35,447 and active caseload to 60.

The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 33, 148 with the recovery of seven more patients in the last 24 hours.

The death toll remained unchanged at 753 with no fresh death reported on Saturday. 

According to data from the department of Health and Family Welfare, the two positive cases were reported in Dimapur.

Meanwhile, four in Dimapur, two in Kohima and one in Mokokchung recovered during the same period.

Out of 60 active cases in the state, 55 are asymptomatic, four mild and one moderate on oxygen.

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 40 infections, 13 in Kohima, five in Mokokchung, and one each in Kiphire and Longleng, while Wokha, Mon, Tuensang, Peren, Zunheboto and Phek are currently Covid-19 free.

3614 new cases in India

India on Saturday recorded 3,614 fresh Covid-19 pushing the overall tally to 4,29,87,875 infections, the Union Health Ministry said.

The death toll due went up to 5,15,803 with 89 more fatalities, the data stated.

The number of active cases dipped to 40,559 with the recovery of 5,185 patients in the last 24 hours.

With the administration of more than 18.18 lakh (18,18,511) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 179.91crore (1,79,91,57,486).
