Nagaland reports 12 new Covid-19 cases; 25920 infections in India

Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 12 Covid-19 positive cases on Friday, taking the state’s tally to 35,340 while active caseload declined to 316 with the recovery of 43 patients — 24 in Dimapur, 14 in Kohima, two in Mokokchung and three in Peren.

The state’s cumulative recoveries have increased to 32,795 while the death toll remained unchanged at 749 with no fresh fatalities reported in the last 24 hours. 

According to an update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, eight positive cases were reported in Dimapur, two in Kohima, and one each in Mokokchung and Wokha.

Out of 316 active cases in the state, 227 are asymptomatic, 82 mild, three moderate on oxygen, two in ICU without ventilator and two in ICU on ventilator.

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 169 infections, 99 in Kohima, 13 in Tuensang, seven in Peren, eight each in Mokokchung and Wokha, nine in Phek, two in Mon and one in Kiphire, while Zunheboto and Longleng are currently Covid-19 free.

25920 new cases in India

Meanwhile, India reported 25,920 new coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours, pushing the tally to 4,27,80,235, while the active cases dropped to 2,92,092, according to the data provided by the Union Health Ministry on Friday

The death toll has climbed to 5,10,905 with 492 fresh fatalities and the total number of recuperation has increased to 4,19,77,238 following recovery of 66,254 patients in the past 24 hours. The update went on to inform that 174.64 crore Covid vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far.
