Nagaland records two new COVID-19 positive cases, no deaths

Dimapur, July 9 (EMN): Nagaland recorded two new COVID-19 positive cases on Saturday but no deaths and recoveries were registered on the day.

The two new infections from Dimapur pushed the state’s active cases to 32 and the tally so far to 35, 543. The number of recoveries and death toll remained unchanged at 33, 255 and 758 respectively.

Out of the 32 active cases in the state, 29 are asymptomatic, one mild and two moderate on oxygen.

In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has highest infections at 20, followed by Peren with six, three in Kohima, two in Longleng and one in Mokokchung, while the remaining districts are currently COVID-free. 

Meanwhile, India recorded 18,840 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s active caseload to 1,25,028.

The country’s daily positivity rate stands at 4.14% and recovery rate at 98.51%.
