The AICC in-charge for Nagaland, Ajoy Kumar on Tuesday said that among the Indian states, highest sale of inverters has been recorded in Nagaland, due to inadequate power supply.

Addressing the crowd during a rally at Diphupar local ground in Chümoukedima, Kumar said he has travelled across India but there is no place worst than Nagaland in terms of road.

“Nagas must understand that the money that they (BJP and NDPP) distribute during election is from the development facilities, and therefore it is the responsibility of the Nagas to understand that nobody is distributing money because they like you,” he claimed.

Claiming that the BJP and NDPP are distributing 1% of money they had stolen from funds for roads, hospitals, stadiums, High Court and other projects, he said the public should not vote for them if they are worried about their health, secularism and job.

NPCC President K Therie said that there is no reason why the 23 INC candidates will not win if true and honest democracy is practiced in the upcoming poll. He claimed that “because of money and muscle power, our candidates are struggling and striving, yet, we are not going to give up”.

Claiming that Congress is the only party that has been voicing for the people even though they have no member in the state legislative assembly, he said they want to make an entry into the state assembly this time.

Former Chief Minister of Nagaland, KL Chishi, said it has been 20 years since the state doesn’t have a Congress MLA. Even if a few candidates get elected this time, the party will be the agency and missionary to motivate those in power to work for the downtrodden people and for the development of the state, he added.

He stated Nagaland has become a land of corruption, and many developmental activities have come to a standstill.

He said everyone wants change, and therefore changing the government is the only way for a new Nagaland.
