Nagaland records new 218 Covid-19 cases, 14 deaths; tally breaches 22000-mark

Dimapur, June 2 (EMN): Nagaland’s active Covid-19 caseload increased to 4832 and tally to 22072 as 218 fresh infections were detected in the last 24 hours.
The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, updated on Wednesday that out of the new cases in the state, 86 were in Dimapur, 40 in Mokokchung, 34 in Kohima, 31 in Tuensang, nine in Phek, seven in Wokha, five in Zunheboto, three in Kiphire, and one each in Longleng, Mon and Peren.
He added that as many as 94 patients – 20 each in Dimapur and Kohima, Longleng-12, Mokokchung-10, Mon-9, Tuensang-8, Kiphire-6, Zunheboto-5, and Wokha-4 – recovered during the same period.
According to the update by Health department, out of 4832 active cases, 4424 are asymptomatic, 254 mild, 76 moderate on oxygen, 42 severe on oxygen, 30 in ICU without ventilator and six in ICU on ventilator.
In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, Dimapur accounts for 2475, Kohima- 1540, Mokokchung- 245, Tuensang- 196, Phek- 104, Zunheboto- 87, Wokha- 68, Mon- 45, Kiphire- 40, Longleng- 19, and Peren- 16.
The state has also recorded 16,205 recoveries so far and 386 deaths, out of which 14 were reported in the last 24 hours.
