Nagaland records 94 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death; tally rises to 24191

Dimapur, June 19 (EMN): Nagaland recorded 94 new Covid-19 positive cases on Saturday, taking the state’s tally to 24, 191.
The Health and Family Welfare Department updated that out of the 94 new cases detected in the last 24 hours, 32 were in Dimapur, 18 in Mokokcung, 12 in Kohima, 11 each in Peren and Tuensang, nine in Phek, and one in Wokha.
The state also recorded 171 recoveries in the last 24 hours out of which 98 were in Dimapur, 42 in Mokokchung, eight each in Kohima and Zunheboto, six in Tuensang, three in Wokha, and two each in Longleng, Phek and Mon.
Nagaland currently has 1979 active Covid-19 cases, wherein 1800 are asymptomatic, 101 mild, 45 moderate on oxygen, 18 severe on oxygen, 11 in ICU without ventilator and four in ICU with ventilator.
In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur has 637, Mokokchung-517, Kohima-474, Tuensang-144, Phek-44, Mon-43, Zunheboto-42, Peren-33, Kiphire-20, Longleng-15, and Wokha-10.
The state has registered 21,058 recoveries and 454 deaths with one more casualty reported in the last 24 hours.
Vaccine slot booking to open
Nagaland Health department has issued a notice informing the public that CoWIN portal will be opened for vaccine slot booking for 18-44 age group on Sunday, June 20 from 9 am onwards for vaccination to be held from June 21 to the 25th.
A total of 8700 slots will be available across the state during this period.
State Immunisation Officer Dr. Ritu Thurr informed that along with the 45 and above age group, on-site registration and vaccination would be made available to the 18-44 age group in rural health units.
India records more than 60K new cases
Meanwhile, India recorded 60,753 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to 2,98,23,546 (2.98 crore), while the number of active cases stands at 7,60,019, according to the data provided by the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll climbed to 3,85,137 with 1,647 fresh fatalities, while 97,743 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, pushing the cumulative recoveries to 2,86,78,390 (2.86 crore).
A total of 27,23,88,783 (27.23 crore) vaccine doses have been administered so far.
